Editor-in-Chief Of EuroCHoices
The Agricultural Economics Society (AES) and the European Agricultural and Applied Economics Publications Foundation (EAAEP Foundation) are seeking to appoint an Editor-in-Chief (EiC) for the EuroChoices journal. The new appointment is to replace John Davis, who will step down after 25 years’ service. A brief outline of the vacancy is found below. The successful candidate for the Editor-in-Chief role will have the following profile:
- Broad and extensive knowledge in the economics of sustainable agri-food systems and rural resources
- Commitment to promoting editorial diversity across disciplines, methods, regions, and stakeholder viewpoints
- Well-networked in the agricultural economics profession in Europe
- Excellent skills in written English
- Skilled in digital communication, including confident use of social media for professional engagement
- Ability to translate research findings into policy-relevant language and communicate effectively with audiences beyond academia, including policymakers, practitioners, educators, and the wider public
- Ability to work to tight deadlines.
It is vital that candidates fully understand and embrace in practice the outreach purpose and philosophy of EuroChoices and work with co-editors and the Management Board towards the dissemination of accessible, high quality socio-economic research to a wider body of readers in the fields of policy, practice, teaching and research, including those who are not reached by traditional scientific journals.
Proven expertise and experience in an editorial or management role of a scientific journal is an advantage. A stimulating vision regarding the position and development of EuroChoices should accompany these requirements.

- A letter of motivation (including applicant’s vision for EuroChoices) of not more than 2,000 words.
- CV with specific emphasis on the qualifications required for the Editor-in-Chief of EuroChoices.
Applications will be considered by the members of the EuroChoices Management Board. Interviews are not anticipated.
